Currently most process fluid instrumentation is installed in a vertical orientation. If your process involves steam or other high temperature fluids these new instrument housings could be an advantage.

In a vertical orientation the sensitive electronics used in modern instrumentation are exposed to convection heating in addition to radiant heating from the adjacent pipe work and so may fail prematurely.

These new housings with horizontal instrument orientation avoid the effect of convection and have no void spaces on their interior.
